I am a 30-something woman – mother of a toddler, holistic healer, sewing pattern designer, recipe creator, lover of music and all things vintage, and we are allergic to corn. That last part I only recently realized, and was awakened to a whole new level of understanding of the foods we eat and how they directly affect every aspect of our health.
This blog has now become a way for me to utilize and share my abilities and life’s experiences with you. I hope to inspire those who want to create. I hope to help heal and soothe those that are traveling along the same weary corn-intolerant journey that I have become familiar with. And I hope to make a difference, big or small, in the way we see how our food affects every part of our lives, whether a person has food allergies or not.
Despite the difficulties trying to feed and sustain my family on a daily basis, I feel like I am finally able to see my true self and strive to live as authentically as possible everyday. Finding peace in your situation, learning to see and hear your inner self, allowing yourself to be happy, and appreciating each moment instead of worrying about the past or future are some of the most valuable lessons one can learn, no matter what your life’s story is. Somehow, this all seemed to magically happen with me, and I believe that everyone has the ability to heal if they just learn to truly see what it is that needs the healing.
If you happen to be corn intolerant, you have definitely stumbled across the right blog, because most of everything I share about my personal healing is rooted in my discovery of my own corn allergy. As you probably know, corn intolerant people can’t live “normal” lives like everyone else, and have to give up that normalcy entirely upon finding out about their intolerance. This is especially difficult if they discover it later in life. My corn allergy has turned into a daily learning experience for me, and I am happy to share my findings, my thoughts, my misery, my joy, and best of all *my recipes* with you.
I am ever so grateful that you have stopped by, and I would love to hear your story about your corn intolerance or food allergy, and how you strive to live your authentic life despite the difficulties. How wonderful is it to know that you are not alone?
